Sebastian Welsh's starring role in St Kilda's Community Wheelchair team's premiership-winning season has been rewarded with the club's inaugural CWFL Best & Fairest.
Welsh scored 101 goals for the season - including eight in last month's Grand Final - between both the CWFL and VWFL competitions, earning best-on-ground honours in the process as the Saints claimed their maiden flag in the competition.
The young forward was presented with his latest accolade as part of the club's 2023 Trevor Barker Award, with Nick Bryant and Steffan Nero winning the honour for the Saints' Victorian Wheelchair and Victorian Blind Football League sides respectively.
As part of the awards ceremony, St Kilda's CWFL side received premiership medallions by St Kilda CEO Simon Lethlean.
At the conclusion of the season just gone, all three of St Kilda's community football sides all have Grand Final triumphs to their name.
St Kilda's VWFL side missed out on finals action to finish the season with a 4-8 record; a one-point loss to Collingwood in the last game of the season denying a certain September berth.
Meanwhile, the club’s Victorian Blind Football League side dipped out on Grand Final action following a semi-final loss to Hawthorn Gold the week prior.
Led by Nero's performances, the Saints won four games for the season to finish in second place, however missed out on a third straight Grand Final appearance with the Hawks proving too strong.
