Emerging Saints Max Hall and Hugh Boxshall have re-committed to St Kilda Football Club, each signing two-year extensions which will see them remain in red, white and black until at least the end of 2027 and 2028 respectively.

Hall, 23, has impressed across his appearances at senior level this season, showcasing his speed, pressure and work rate in the forward half of the ground.

Hall’s strong VFL form in 2024 and across the pre-season saw him earn his AFL debut in Round 1 this year, with the exciting endurance machine continuing to build his game week by week.

Hall said he was grateful for the opportunity and hungry to keep improving.

“I’m absolutely stoked to be sticking around for another two years,” Hall said.

“It’s a privilege to represent the Saints and I’m really thankful to the coaches, my teammates and everyone at the club who’s helped me get to this point.

“If you’d told me 18 months ago I’d be in this position I don’t know if I would have believed you, so I’m going to continue to grab this opportunity with both hands and do everything I can for my teammates and this club.”

Similarly, Hugh Boxshall has impressed since joining the club via last year’s draft, showcasing professionalism and fortitude beyond his 19 years.

Moving to Moorabbin from Western Australia, Boxshall has added to the Saints’ engine room in his seven senior level games to date.

“I’m loving every second of my time here at the Saints,” Boxshall said.

“Everyone here is so supportive and just wants to see all of us get better and grow both on and off the field.

“I’m so happy to extend my time here and can’t wait to get stuck in and play my role in moving us forward.”

St Kilda Executive General Manager of Football David Misson said the club was thrilled to extend both Max and Hugh.

“Max has worked incredibly hard to earn his spot at senior level and continues to show promising signs every time he pulls on the jumper,” Misson said.

“His pressure around the ball, ability to hit the scoreboard and team-first mindset make him a valuable part of our group.

“Likewise, Hugh’s attack on the ball and work rate is a credit to his ability to apply what he’s learning off the field on game day.
