Cooper Sharman has put pen to paper, signing a two-year contract extension that will see him remain in the red, white and black until at least the end of 2028.

Sharman’s fresh deal follows a career-best 2025 campaign, with the 25-year-old stepping up to play a pivotal role in St Kilda’s forward line. The 193cm budding leader finished the season with an impressive 34 goals, while also ranking 16th in the AFL for marks inside 50.

“We’re really proud of the growth Cooper has shown over the past few years and we’re glad to have him locked in as part of our future,” GM of Football Lenny Hayes said.

“He’s a great asset to the team and an emerging leader of the club, both on and off the field. We’re excited to see what the next few years hold for him.”

Selected in the 2021 Mid-Season Rookie Draft out of the SANFL, Sharman arrived at the club’s COVID hub less than a week after being drafted. He wasted no time earning his place at senior level and hasn’t looked back since.

“I’m rapt to have signed on with the club. We’re building something special here and the whole group is committed and hungry for success,” Sharman said.

“We’ve got a great group of players and coaches which makes coming into the club every day enjoyable.

“The Saints gave me my opportunity and have helped me become the player I am today for which I’m extremely grateful.”

Sharman is set to line up for his 78th AFL game this weekend at Marvel Stadium against Carlton.
