ARRYN Siposs has a booming right foot – occasionally he connects so sweetly that you can hear the Sherrin thud into his laces. It’s a rare talent, but not the be all and end all for the talented youngster.
“There are many things that I need to work on as a forward,” he told SAINTS.com.au on Saturday.
“Leading is obviously one thing that I need to continue working on, getting front and square and tackling in the forward-line [as well].”
Siposs made his debut in 2011, playing five consecutive games from round seven to round 11, the most AFL matches he has played in a row.
Last year he was utilised in defence as well as in the forward half, and impressed with his foot skills and ability to mark cleanly overhead.
In 2013, Siposs has played six matches, including the last four, booting six goals in total.
But while the 21-year-old has shown promising signs in the last two years, he is committed to achieving greater consistency at AFL level.
“I’ve got to keep focussing … week in, week out,” he said.
One player that Siposs is relishing playing alongside is St Kilda skipper Nick Riewoldt.
“He is a great player and has been a great player for a long time,” he said.
“He just keeps working his heart out I guess. It’s good to be learning off him at the present time … Hopefully he’s got a few more [years] in him.”
