YOUNG talent Jimmy Webster has been voted the Most Promising Player at St Kilda’s best and fairest awards night, the ‘Season That Was.’

Webster, who debuted in Round 7 against Carlton, played more games than any other debutant this year (11), impressing with his sure hands and thumping left foot kick.

This award is great recognition for a player who struggled with injury last season but overcame a bout of shin splints ahead of 2013.

The 20-year-old averaged 11 touches per game this year and collected 12 or more disposals in each of his last five games.

His precise skills and measured approach to the game holds Webster in good stead for the future as he continues to develop his body for the rigors of AFL football.
