St Kilda development coach and Sandringham assistant Paul Hudson sat down with SAINTS.com.au on Monday morning and reflected on a number of promising individual performances from Saturday's VFL victory.

Maverick Weller
39 touches, 19 kicks and 20 handballs, a good disposal efficiency and three goals. I think I was quoted the other week about Mav nearly playing a perfect game, but this has just about topped that.

Obviously he dominated and he did all this on top of shutting down Liam Anthony, who is a dangerous player for them. It was a really close to complete performance.

Shane Savage
He was good as well and had 26 disposals. He won a lot of his ball in the contest under pressure. Shane did well in the clearances, worked hard, and applied good defensive pressure as well. We were pleased with his output.

Sam Fisher
This was his first ever game for Sandringham and he was solid across half-back. Chips won the contested ball when he needed to one-on-one but because it was his first came back after a while out, he perhaps didn’t run as much as he otherwise would. But he’ll be better for the run for sure and you know what you’re going to get with him.

Cameron Shenton
Shents played well across half-back and really set us up on a number of occasions. His ability to use his legs and get around players and take them on is impressive. He’s been a very consistent player for us this year.

Blake Acres
He’s another one who played well. Blake is exciting and reads the play so well. He’s creative and sees the game earlier than others, which allows him to play well off half-back. He will continue to work on his ball use but overall Blake had a good game for us, giving us good drive.

Terry Milera
Terry had 20 touches and spent more time on the ball this week, rather than forward. Even so, he still managed to kick a couple of goals when drifted forward. I said to Terry before the game ‘just use your legs.’ He’s super quick, so when he takes the game on he can be really damaging and he was just this on Saturday.

Because he’s so fast, he often draws a couple of opposition players to him which creates overlap for us.

Dylan Roberton
Dylan moved well this week and he and Shenton are exceptional defenders who provide great run and carry for us. He also got up the ground a little bit more this week, which was pleasing.

Daniel Markworth
Marky’s work-rate really stood out. He was playing as a forward and to see him hunt the footy from a centre bounce and then sprint forward after it again was really pleasing. His ability to get front and square was quite evident.

I’ve spoken to him in previous weeks about getting hard and low and his attack on the ball on Saturday was excellent – he laid some really good tackles.

Trent Dennis-Lane
He was a real opportunist on the weekend. He kicked four goals and laid four tackles and had 15 touches. Trent also covered the ground really well. He got down to the half-back flank and then went forward with the run of play, getting crumbs.

He also had a bit of a forward-line defensive role, which is hard to believe because he kicked four, but he held his direct opponent to 13 touches. Trent’s all-round game is in good shape.

Sam Dunell
He had four shots at goal and kicked two in the end. Sammy played predominantly in the forward-line again this week and marked the ball well, judging the flight and trajectory of it better than the opposition. He looked lively and all in all was good for us.
Darren Minchington
Darren spent most of the game on the ball and had bursts forward as well. The pleasing part of Minchy’s game, that has really developed over the past few weeks, is his balance between defence and offence.

He laid eight tackles so he’s always right in and amongst it and up and about with his leg speed too.

Arryn Siposs
Sippo looked dangerous when he went for his marks and it was a case of ‘see ball, get ball.’ He needs to back himself and fly for a few more, because when he goes for it, he rarely doesn’t take it. He also nailed two goals from two shots. What you get with Sippo, like Jack Billings, is really good ball use. He’s got excellent skills.

Billy Longer
Billy had a solid day in the ruck and even kicked a goal. He also had 33 hit outs and competed well in the contests.

Tom Lee
I’ve got a lot of clips of Tommy getting to contests and competing well. He finished with 10 possessions and didn’t kick a goal, but we were pleased with his effort. He was always on the move and just had one of those days where things didn’t land for him.

Jason Holmes
Holmesy was a good link man for us and played well in the ruck. He got himself in a couple of good positions close to goal but didn’t kick a goal and his running patterns were good. He’s improving every week and had four tackles too. He probably doesn’t get stats for intercepts and that’s where his basketball background comes into it.
