ALAN Richardson has made two changes to the team that was defeated by Richmond last Sunday, including James Gwilt and Dylan Roberton for the final match of the season.

Sam Gilbert (injured) and Tom Curren (omitted) are the two players that will make way.

Curren will act as the travelling emergency, while uncapped ruckman Lewis Pierce and Sam Dunell are the other two emergencies.

Roberton has played six games for the Saints this year after finishing 10th in the 2013 best and fairest. While he was hampered by an ankle injury for much of the season, his form in recent weeks has warranted consideration according to development coach Paul Hudson.

“He has good presence in defence with his tackling and spoiling, and also offers quite a bit on the rebound,” he told SAINTS.com.au earlier this week.

Gwilt was the carry-over emergency last weekend, so didn’t play either AFL or VFL.

The defender, who has also spent some time forward over the last month, has played 16 senior matches this year, bringing his career tally to 125.

His average of 16.3 disposals per outing is almost exactly the same as fellow stoppers Sean Dempster and Sam Fisher.

Meanwhile, retiring champion Lenny Hayes has been named in the centre for his final game.
