Since the end of the 2014 season, St Kilda has signed 19 emerging young players as part of #SaintsFutureFest, extended Nick Riewoldt’s contract, drafted a host of exciting players including No.1 pick Paddy McCartin and reached 25,000 members before Christmas for the first time in club history.

The success stories haven’t stopped there with dozens of personal best 2km time trials run, Maverick Weller and Jack Newnes were voted into the club’s leadership group, Dare Iced Coffee signed on as Principal Partner, former skipper Danny Frawley returned to the club as a specialist defensive coach and Jamie Cox was appointed to the new role on GM – Football Performance.

CEO Matt Finnis said the Saints wanted to take the opportunity to thank all current members during Saints Membership March and also encourage other supporters to sign up and help build St Kilda back into an AFL powerhouse ahead of the Round 1 clash with GWS at Etihad Stadium at 1:10pm, Sunday April 5th.

Key features of the March include:

  • Digital Media Membership offer via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Two open training sessions (4pm, Friday 6th March at Trevor Barker Beach Oval and 4pm, Wednesday 18th March at Moorabbin)
  • Jumper presentation in St Kilda (Saturday 14th March)
  • Past-player call-out to supporters
  • Player visits to supporters’ home

St Kilda members will get free access to all NAB Challenge games. To sign up, call 1300 467 246 or click HERE.

“There is considerable momentum at St Kilda and I call on our fans – especially those who might have disconnected with the club – to have another look at what we are building during Saints Membership March because we are heading in the right direction,” Finnis told SAINTS.com.au.

“St Kilda has good people in place, we have developed clear plans and strategies right across the organisation and are heading in the right direction on and off-field – the best part would be seeing our supporters commit as members and really get behind the Saints.”

Finnis said the club needed to build its membership figures beyond 30,000 this year.

“We are the people’s club and there is no better time to start reconnecting and growing again and we would love to see all existing members encourage their St Kida supporting family and friends to also sign up,” he said.

“We are committed to taking this club to the fans in new and exciting ways and reconnecting, whether that is by holding open training sessions in various locations or making our coaches available to answer questions on Facebook after a game.”

Finnis said since the 2014 season ended the Saints had focused on being more open and inclusive with its fans and are committed to building this connection.

“To connect with fans that engage with us on social media we will be promoting a relatively new digital membership offer that will appeal to many, especially those living outside of Melbourne or those that don’t have Foxtel.

“There is a membership category for everyone, whether you want to sign-up as an exciting new Goal Zone member and sit with other Saints fans right behind the goals or simply want to show some support and be part of the club.”

Our game day this season has been revamped. It will entertain and excite, it will be about the footy and the fan and it will bring the legendary St Kilda spirit to life. In a first at St Kilda flexible level 1 seating is now available behind the goals. The Goal Zone membership allows you to be surrounded by Saints with no opposition in sight and is close enough to hear the bumps, the tackles and the thud of a drop punt off the boot. This Goal Zone membership will be an exciting place to be this year and we hope that our fans love it as much as we do.
