ST KILDA is highly likely to be boosted by the return of Nick Riewoldt among a host of other players for this Sunday’s clash against Brisbane.

Although each listed as ‘test,’ the club is confident Jarryn Geary, Luke Delaney, Jimmy Webster, Jack Lonie and Riewoldt will all get through training this week and be available for selection this weekend.

The Saints skipper was concussed in a sickening collision with Brodie Smith in round seven, forcing him out of Saturday’s loss to West Coast. He stayed the night in Adelaide as a precaution and was back training at Linen House Centre today.

“The club medicos are really happy with where Nick has progressed to now,” Head physiotherapist Andrew Wallis told SAINTS.com.au.

“He has ticked every box. We obviously have training today and on Thursday and he has to pass that to be available for selection.”

Small forward Jack Lonie and defender Jimmy Webster are in a similar boat to Riewoldt and Wallis expects them both to be available as well.

Webster was subbed against the Eagles with concussion, while Lonie was rested last week following a concussion against Adelaide.

Key defender Luke Delaney (hip) and Jarryn Geary (corked thigh) are also both expected to play, but will first need to pass fitness tests on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sam Gilbert will more than likely return via the VFL this weekend from a minor quad strain.

“Sam trained on Saturday and is out there running around,” Wallis said.

“He will most likely play for Sandringham… it’s important to note that while all six of these players are listed as test, we expect them to all be available to play.”

UPDATED: Injury list

One player who will be sidelined is Sam Fisher. The 32-year-old will not return from a hamstring ‘tweak’ suffered against West Coast until after the round 12 bye.

Daniel Markworth and Arryn Siposs are back into full training and are nearing a return from the long-term injury list after their respective shoulder reconstructions.

BRISBANE: Open training

Jarryn Geary has missed a fortnight with a corked thigh.
