St Kilda finds itself in a fortunate medical position at the minute, with only a few minor concerns ahead of Sunday’s clash with North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.

Emerging key forward Paddy McCartin has been declared available for selection after he had his workload managed last weekend after playing the previous month following an interrupted preparation.

“After having last week managed, we’ve just looked after Paddy,” St Kilda GM of Football Performance Jamie Cox told saints.com.au on Tuesday night.

“He’s had a pretty solid week on the track, he’s freshened up and as a result he’ll back in for selection this weekend.”

Rebounding defender Dylan Roberton will miss another week with the medial ligament injury he suffered in his knee late in St Kilda’s Round 3 win against Collingwood.

“Dylan Roberton has been pushed back a week,” Cox said.

“He was hopeful to be available for selection against North Melbourne, but we’ve taken a cautious approach with him and he’ll have another week just preparing for the following weekend.”

Off-season recruit Nathan Freeman is also in line to return next weekend following his latest hamstring setback.

The highly regarded midfielder played his only game of 2016 a month ago before the minor issue occurred, but Cox predicted he would return next Saturday after training strongly this week.

“Nathan’s been training well this week,” Cox said.

“He’s probably got another week of training before he’s likely to remerge and play next weekend.”
