St Kilda ruckman Jason Holmes has been elevated to the club’s primary list on Thursday.

The American product debuted for the Saints in Round 21 last season before remaining in the team for the final three rounds of the year.

Holmes, 26, has featured in the first five games of the season with Sandringham, after playing in both of St Kilda’s NAB Challenge games.

St Kilda Chief Operating Officer and Legal Counsel Ameet Bains said Holmes’ elevation was reward for the ruckman’s progress this year.

“We think Jason has showed really good form at VFL level this season is ready for senior football again if required,” Bains told saints.com.au on Thursday afternoon.

“The elevation is a great recognition for his development over the last 12 months.”
