Eddie Betts’ performance against Greater Western Sydney last weekend has been dissected across the football landscape, following its sheer brilliance and game altering significance in the Crows win over the Giants.

On Sunday, reliable St Kilda small defender Jarryn Geary is likely to follow the champion goal sneak around Adelaide Oval and he will be hoping to add the Adelaide star to his list of 2016 scalps which includes Hayden Ballantyne, Brent Harvey and Alex Fasolo.

Geary, who finished 5th in last year’s Trevor Barker Award, conceded the Crows have an imposing forward setup, including Betts, Adelaide captain Taylor Walker, Josh Jenkins and Tom Lynch, and says it will take a big effort to limit their scoring prowess.

“I wouldn’t have even had to go to the computer to watch Eddie’s goal, it’s been on TV all week. I’ve had a look; he’s been in good form. I’m sure I’ll spend a bit of time on him, I look forward to it,” Geary told Adelaide radio station Five AA.

“They’ve got a terrific forward line. I’d go through all their names but I’d have to apologise if I missed anyone they’re going that well. We’ve got a good back six that will hopefully get the job done on Sunday afternoon.”

Post-season groin surgery last October has alleviated some of the niggles Geary managed across last season, although the 27-year-old admits going under the knife in that area was an unnerving process.

“I struggled a little bit last year getting up week to week, I didn’t miss any games through it was just one of those managing injuries,” Geary said.

“Ever since I had the surgery it’s been pretty good I haven’t had any issues. It’s pretty daunting surgery when they say we’re going to in and around your groin area. But it’s come up really well.”
