St Kilda key forward Tim Membrey has been rewarded for his strong performance against Melbourne on Sunday with the full forward spot in AFL Media’s Round 17 team of the week.

The emerging spearhead followed up his five goal haul against Essendon, with another large helping, this time booting 4.2 in the Saints 36-point win over the Demons.

Membrey, 22, also collected 16 possessions and ten marks at Etihad Stadium – six of which were taken inside 50.

The Gippsland Power product has enjoyed a breakout season in 2016, booting 32 goals from 11 games after working his way into Alan Richardson’s side in Round 6.

At an average of 2.9 goals per game, Membrey has entrenched himself in the upper echelon of key forwards this season. He is ranked No. 5 for average goals in the AFL this season, behind Josh Kennedy, Lance Franklin, Tom Lynch and Jeremy Cameron.
