For the first time in the club’s history, St Kilda players will be missing the signature red strip from their tri-coloured guernsey when they run out against Richmond on 8 July.

Instead, the Saints will be sporting a purple stripe in support of Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision.

Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision was established in 2015 following the passing of Maddie Riewoldt, sister of club champion Nick and cousin of Tigers’ forward, Jack Riewoldt.

Maddie’s Match aims to raise funds and awareness for Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes. With more than $1.6 million already raised and $1million already granted towards important research projects, Nick Riewoldt said he was hoping to add to that total in 2017.

“Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes are conditions that often effects young people and stops them from being able to produce blood cells and platelets every day,” Riewoldt said.

“Football fans time and again have proven to be extremely generous and supportive and I have no doubt that will be the same this year at Maddie’s Match.

“As well as the limited edition purple Saints guernsey, we also have Maddie’s Vision scarves, pins, laces and footballs on sale.

“As a family we are committed to continuing Maddie’s mission to help others who are fighting this horrible disease.”

Saints fans also have the opportunity to sign up for an exclusive Maddie’s Match membership package.

The package consists of two reserved level one seats for the clash against Richmond, a Maddie’s Vision pin and other St Kilda merchandise. Most importantly, $5 from every Maddie’s Match membership will be donated directly to Maddie’s Vision.

“We’re hoping to see Saints, Tigers and footy fans alike at Etihad on Saturday July 8 to show their support in a sea of purple,” Riewoldt said.

“Help us #FightLikeMaddie against Bone Marrow Failures.”
