Young star Jack Billings has signalled his commitment to helping St Kilda return to September action by inking a new two-year contract.

The classy left-footer, who turns 22 on Friday, will remain with the club until at least the end of the 2019 season after signing a new deal this week.

Playing mostly across half forward, the No.3 pick from the 2013 Draft has enjoyed a standout season, averaging a goal and 23 possessions per game.

Billings said he was thrilled to be committed to the Saints for a further two years and excited about what the future holds.

“I’m very happy at St Kilda. We have a great group coming through who are really united and determined to take the next step,” Billings said.

“Both personally and collectively, I know we have a lot of improvement left in us, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together.”

Chief Operating Officer Ameet Bains said Billings’ signature was a vital one as the club strives to become a premiership contender.

“Jack has emphatically demonstrated his ability to impact matches this season and that’s a reflection of how hard he continues to work away from match day.”

“He is a popular member of our playing group and someone we know will drive standards within the club over the coming seasons.

“While he clearly has enormous talent, we expect him to continue to push himself to improve over the next two years which is really exciting.”
