The manager of David Armitage has rejected talk the inside midfielder could be traded.

Speaking to SEN Breakfast this morning, Armitage’s manager Shane Casely reaffirmed the 29-year-old’s commitment to St Kilda.

“It’s amazing, this time every year David’s name keeps getting thrown up,” Casley said.

“Brisbane had a crack at him two or three years ago, but every year his name keeps getting mentioned.

“I know that he’s keen to stay a Saint and the Saints are very keen to keep him.

“From an injury point of view, he’s had a couple of surgeries and has a couple of setbacks along the way, but I had him in a couple of weeks ago and he’s fighting fit.

“He’s confident he can do the majority of the pre-season and come back bigger and better next year.”

Armitage was sidelined with groin injuries for the majority of the 2017 season after pulling up sore following the Saints’ round four win against Collingwood.
