Billy Longer has accepted a $1000 sanction after being charged with striking Essendon’s Paul Chapman in Morwell at the weekend.

Based on video evidence and a medical report from the Bombers, the panel classified the incident which occurred in the third quarter of the NAB Challenge match as careless conduct with low impact to the head.

The offence was originally classified as a $1500 sanction under the table of penalties however as Longer has no applicable bad record he reduced the penalty with an early plea. 

The ruckman will not miss any games and is eligible to play in St Kilda’s third NAB Challenge game against Hawthorn on Thursday 19th March.
