SEB Ross and Daniel Markworth have undergone surgery after suffering hamstring and shoulder injuries respectively.

Markworth dislocated his shoulder at training last week while Ross suffered a hamstring tear in Saturday’s NAB Challenge win over Essendon.

Both players had successful operations and are recovering well.

Ross is still expected to miss 10-12 weeks while Markworth will be sidelined for an indefinite period. A timeframe on his return will be reassessed as his rehabilitation progresses.

Ross and Markworth were both drafted in 2011 and recently signed contract extensions as part of #SaintsFutureFest.

Ross, the cousin of Essendon captain Jobe Watson, has played 27 senior games since his debut against GWS in 2012, mostly as an inside midfielder.

Markworth has endured a wretched run with injury, including an ACL that forced him out for the 2013 season and a hamstring complaint which prematurely ended his 2014 campaign. He is yet to play a senior game although was named as an emergency on three occasions in 2012 (Rounds 15, 16 and 22).

Surgery went well! ✅ Appreciate the messages of support guys! #rehab #gosaints
