Who is your all-time favourite footballer or athlete?

Turia Pitt. I think the way she came back from her severe injuries and burns from the fire when she was training for an ultra marathon is incredible. You read her story and it's just so inspiring. She was told she would never run again, engage in sport or exercise again, and she's had a baby and she did a triathlon in Hawaii and that's really inspiring.

Who is the worst teammate on social media?

One hundred per cent Kate McCarthy. Those dogs have actually visited my family home, and it was quite entertaining, because I'm not really a dog person. Love Nacho and Norman, but everyone knows what they get up to every single day, and she's just a classic. Kate has the gift of the gab, she's very entertaining and I get along with her very well.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A paramedic. I've always had an interest in nursing, paramedics and things like that. I came to the realisation it's very mentally draining, so I went for a little safer option in being a (secondary) teacher, which is also mentally draining but I think the longevity is better. But I'm very inspired by healthcare workers, I think they're incredible.

Who is your toughest opponent?

Many tough opponents. Darcy Vescio and I have had very good battles over the past few years. I think she's an incredible player, she's very unassuming, and I do love the way she has an incredible change of pace. She can catch you off guard very quickly, she makes you question everything you're doing. I've loved playing on her and she gives a bit of lip too, which is also entertaining. I've loved the challenge of playing against her.

Which Olympic sport would you love to compete in?

I think the 1500m. I'd love to run that. Or maybe a quick hot lap, a 400m, that'd be awesome – Cathy Freeman inspired, obviously. I watched a documentary about her recently, and the way she talked about how she broke up the race into segments and mapped it out with the journey of her life, I thought that was awesome.

Which teammate is most likely to go on and coach?

Tarni White. As much as she probably doesn't think that at the moment, she's got incredible knowledge of football and she's definitely coming out of her shell in terms of giving feedback to others and communicating at training, she drives really high standards. She's got huge potential for coaching, in my opinion. Don't know how interested she is in coaching, but she does personal training at the moment.

Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions?

Mainly just the braid game, getting everyone's braids done for them. It calms my nerves, I can keep busy pre-game braiding hair. That's probably my superstition or ritual. I can sit and chat to that person and see how they're feeling pre-game.

What was the first concert you attended?

Robbie Williams. How good. I was in year eight, and I went with my elder sister. I grew up in Mildura, and we drove over to Adelaide, and I went with her and some of her friends. We listened to Robbie all the way there and all the way back (about a nine-hour round trip). It was awesome, I loved it.

What is the non-football accomplishment of which you're most proud?

I ran three half-marathons, and they've always been so much fun. My mum and my cousins and family, every year we'd enter into different categories, the 5km, the 10km, the half-marathon, the marathon, and we'd all do a distance and meet afterwards for a nice lunch. It was so fun, and running in a half-marathon I knew my family were also doing, and finishing with a lap on the MCG, was so inspiring.

Would you prefer to take Mark or Goal of the Year?

I've never kicked a goal in my life, so let's go with Mark of the Year. A real courageous one, back with the flight.
