St Kilda has added a mixture of youth and experience to its 26-man squad to make the trip to Geelong on Sunday.

Alan Richardson and his coaching team have made six changes, with the final team to be announced on Friday.

Young bull Jack Steele, veteran Sam Gilbert, draftee Hunter Clark, livewire Jack Lonie, ruckman Tom Hickey and young defender Logan Austin have been named in the extended squad ahead of the important Round 4 clash.

Small forward Nathan Wright has been omitted, while rebounding defender Jimmy Webster will miss the trip due to a minor hip injury.

Webster has been cleared of any major damage and is hoping to be fit in time to face the Giants at Etihad Stadium in Round 5.

Steele and Lonie had 11 tackles each while playing for Sandringham in the VFL, with Lonie bagging four goals and Steele prolific through the middle.

Gilbert was named the Zebras best in the win over Footscray, while Hickey wasn’t far behind after eclipsing Tom Boyd and Tom Campbell in the ruck.

Youngster Hunter Clark responded to his omission from the senior side with 26 disposals and, if selected, will play his first game alongside housemate and fellow draftee Nick Coffield.

Billy Longer and Mav Weller trained strongly and will play for Sandringham on Sunday in a curtain raiser to the AFL clash.

IN: Gilbert, Lonie, Austin, Steele, Clark and Hickey
