ST KILDA is on track to reach 25,000 members by Christmas.

Early this morning the tally ticked past 23,000, meaning fewer than 2000 renewals are required over the next nine days for the club to reach its objective.

The current tally stands at 23,206, 4000 members ahead of this time last year.

St Kilda has never signed 25,000 members before Christmas, and CEO Matt Finnis sees this as another opportunity to continue the momentum that has been building since the end of the 2014 season.

“We’ve been averaging about 200 membership sales per day,” Finnis told SAINTS.com.au.

“If we can keep this up, or even raise it over the next nine or ten days, then we will hit that magical 25,000 mark.”

Following the re-signing of Nick Riewoldt and 19 young Saints, the appointment of Danny Frawley, the arrival of new recruits including Paddy McCartin, and a worthwhile pre-season trip to Queenstown, St Kilda is openly ambitious in its pursuit of success.

“Members are the lifeblood of our club and have been for over 140 years,” Finnis said.

“We’re laying the foundations for a sustainable period of success in the future, but we need everyone to be on board and commit, just like 19 young players did as part of Saints Future Fest and Nick Riewoldt did a couple of weeks ago.”

Last week Alan Richardson urged St Kilda fans to jump on board in a membership video from the club’s training base in picturesque Queenstown, New Zealand.

“Your support is just so important to this great club,” Richardson said.

“Help us get to 25,000 members before Christmas for the first time. Support me and the players and sign up today.”
