How do you raise over $25,000 for the Good Friday Appeal while locked in a cabin on the Melbourne Star? Just ask Matt Finnis.

Joined by son Jake, the St Kilda Football Club CEO was put to the test this morning as part of 3AW's 'Escape from Neil's Wheel' fundraiser, and boy did he deliver.

With all funds raised supporting a new Point-of-Care Ultrasound System (POCUS) for the Royal Children's Hospital, particpants weren't allowed off the wheel until their $10,000 target had been met.

This proved to be a problem for Matt - he'd already hit the $10k target before the wheel could start spinning.

Nevertheless, targets of $15,000 and $20,000 were later set, both of which he soon soared past thanks to the generosity of the St Kilda faithful.

While Matt's now back on the ground and back to work, there's still plenty of time to show your support Good Friday Appeal.

The Saints will partner with the Kangaroos to stage the second-ever Good Friday 'Kick for the Kids' match on March 30.
