IT’S hard to wipe the smile of Jason Blake’s face.

He’s been at Moorabbin for a decade but is enjoying his football more than ever as a member of the stingiest defence going around.

And going to the break at 12-0 is just the cream on the cake.

“It is a great feeling, its great for the fans, great for the club so I am really happy about it,” Blake said.

“We have got some really talented guys and we are really coming together, working for and with each other.

“So it’s a great feeling to be out there.”

He also loves playing in a defence marshalled off-field by AFL fullback of the century, Steve Silvagni.

“We have got a really good back six now, and just to be working with SOS is great. He has a wealth of experience and its great to learn from someone who has been there and done that for so long.”

Blake and coach Ross Lyon are trying to take it one week at a time but they are just one round away from facing the other undefeated team, Geelong.

It shapes as the game of the season and Blake admitted the players are excited.

“It’s going to be a great game and we are really looking forward to it,” Blake said.

“We just look to improve each time we play, we have obviously got a little bit to work on.”

With 16 days until their next game, most players will be relaxing but not Blake.

He is facing a university exam in procurement management, a part of his supply chain management studies.

“There is a bit to it so I’ll get through that and then I can rest up,” he said.

“We are just going to enjoy the break and rest up and get ready for a big second half of the year.”
