Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has etched his name in St Kilda history, claiming the 2025 Trevor Barker Award in a season that firmly established the 22-year-old as one of the league’s most exciting talents.
Tonight marks a maiden club best and fairest for the proud Kokatha and Narungga man whose fourth year at the club stood out as his most elite campaign yet.
Wanganeen-Milera finished the night polling a total of 313 points ahead of last year’s winner Callum Wilkie (238) and two-time Trevor Barker Award winner Jack Sinclair (223).
Not short of a highlight reel in 2025, the No.7 electrified Saints and footy fans alike, proving the impossible possible with a Sherrin in hand.
Wanganeen-Milera’s influence was undeniable with a transition from half-back to the engine room only further accelerating the star’s game, finishing the season averaging 29.9 disposals, 5.3 marks and booting 17 goals across all 23 home and away matches.
The No. 7’s impact was also recognised as vice-captain of the AFLPA’s 22-under-22 team - his third consecutive inclusion in the side. He also collected maiden All-Australian honours, named at half-back.
Meanwhile, after playing his first AFL game in Round 1 this season, breakout recruit Max Hall took out fourth place (169) to finish ahead of the recently re-signed Marcus Windhager (158). Rowan Marshall, Jack Higgins, Cooper Sharman, Mitch Owens and Jack Macrae rounded out the top 10.
Also celebrated across the night, Wanganeen-Milera added the fan-voted Red Rooster Sainter of the Year Award to his resume of accolades, Hall’s impressive debut campaign earned him the John Beveridge Best Emerging Player Award, Bradley Hill was declared Robert Harvey Best Clubman for the first time as a Saint, while Owens took home the Lenny Hayes Team Trademark Award.
St Kilda’s inclusion football teams were also acknowledged during the evening, with Jasper Steeds (VBFL), James Bowles (CWFL) and Ben Noble (VWFL) winning their teams’ respective best and fairest awards in a year that saw the Saints claim VBFL and VWFL premierships.
Five new Life Members were inducted on the night – former player and board member Dean Anderson, long-serving club dental surgeon Larry Benge, former player and Past Players and Officials Committee member Simon Meehan, highly respected club doctor Dr. Tim Barbour, and recently retired player Jimmy Webster.
