St Kilda has named its 26-man extended squad ahead of Sunday's Round 17 clash with Essendon at Marvel Stadium.

The Saints will make at least two changes to the side that took on the Bulldogs before the Round 16 bye, with Tom De Koning (ribs) and Jack Sinclair (calf) both exiting the side through injury.

Five Saints will put their hands up to replace the injured pair, with Mattaes Phillipou, Tobie Travaglia, Liam Henry, Alex Dodson and Liam O'Connell all added to the extended bench.

The five have all played pivotal roles in the Saints VFL side's recent winning form, having not been defeated in six games.

The final team will be announced at 5:00pm AEST on Friday.

The game will be played at 3:15pm AEST on Sunday, and will be broadcast live on Seven, Fox Footy and Kayo.
