EMERGING midfielder Hugh Boxshall has been crowned St Kilda’s VFL Best & Fairest following a standout second season in red, white, and black.

The 20-year-old averaged 21.5 disposals across 11 games in 2026, with his best performance coming in Round 6 where he amassed 32 disposals, 12 marks, and seven tackles against the Blues.

Boxshall split his time between AFL and VFL appearances in 2026, playing 10 games at the top level including a 21-disposal, 11 tackle outing in Round 23 against the Tigers.

The West Australian was taken at Pick 45 in the 2024 National Draft from Claremont.

First-year midfielder Kye Fincher and captain Billy McGee Galimberti tied for second place in the count, following strong debut seasons at the club.

Fincher averaged 23.9 disposals in his 13 games for the Saints, including a standout 32-disposal, 9-mark outing against the Gold Coast Suns. The 18-year-old was taken at Pick 52 in the 2025 National Draft from the Sandringham Dragons and represented Vic Metro in the U18 National Championships last year.

Captain McGee Galimberti averaged 19.4 disposals in his 15 games for St Kilda, highlighted with a 29-disposal and eight tackle game against Carlton in Round 20. Like Fincher, McGee Galimberti also represented the Sandringham Dragons from 2021-2023, before playing a season in Sydney representing Manly. 

Second-year Irish recruit Eamonn Armstrong received the Player Trademark award, voted by his teammates for commitment to his role and exemplifying team-first behaviours. Armstrong’s development was highlight in the latter stages of the campaign, including a standout 21-disposal, five-mark, and one major performance in the win over Footscray.

Bailey McKenzie was named the Best Emerging Player, after kicking 29 goals in his first year for the Saints. The 20-year-old kicked multiple goals on eight occasions, including two bags of five majors against Coburg and Collingwood. In 2024, McKenzie represented the Sandringham Dragons before playing for Sandringham in 2025.
