JIMMY Webster played more games (11) than any other St Kilda 2013 debutant – a testament to his durability and ability to adapt to the pace and rigours of AFL football.
Webster’s elite kicking skills were on show early in the year at VFL level, before he earned a senior call-up prior to the round seven win over Carlton.
The 20-year-old’s most prolific outing was against Brisbane in round 19, when he collected 15 disposals off half back.
Another summer on the track will undoubtedly help Webster advance his game even further as he embarks on his third year at the club.
Development coach Tony Micale:
“Jimmy had a good season and was in the team consistently for about 10 weeks. He possesses nice skills which we saw immediately at AFL level. He went out of the team late in the year when we had players returning, but we were really happy with his progress overall and look forward to him being part of our future as he improves and grows as a player.
Hopefully he ends up like a Grant Birchall type of player at Hawthorn. About 6 foot 3, an attacking half-back, honest in the contest and a long and accurate left-foot kick who makes good decisions.”
