Mid-season draftee Campbell Lake is set for a fairytale AFL debut just 12 days after joining St Kilda, with the former Southport Shark named to take on Sydney at the SCG this Sunday.

A dynamic forward-half player, Lake’s pressure and craft in front of goal saw the Saints snatch him up with the 7th pick in the 2026 Mid-Season Rookie Draft.

After arriving at RSEA Park last week, the small forward immediately made his presence felt at VFL level, kicking two majors in a win over Box Hill.

Previously plying his trade in Queensland, Lake featured in Gold Coast VFL’s 2023 premiership before helping Southport reach back-to-back VFL Grand Finals in 2024 and 2025.

The 21-year-old is the second debutant for the Saints this year after Charlie Banfield made his first appearance in Round 10.
