St Kilda will kickstart its 2027 campaign with a pair of blockbuster matchups against Victorian rivals, meeting Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs in the opening two rounds of next season.

As revealed earlier in the week, the Saints will host Collingwood on the evening of Saturday 20 March at the MCG in Round One of the 2027 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, before meeting the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium in a 7.20pm clash on Easter Sunday.

The Saints will then host Melbourne at Marvel Stadium before taking on Geelong at Barossa Park during Gather Round to complete the opening month of their season

St Kilda will finish the home and away season with five straight games at Marvel, including four home clashes against Geelong, Brisbane, West Coast and North Melbourne. After hosting Collingwood at the MCG in Round One, St Kilda will meet the Pies again in Round 23 as the away team at Marvel.

In another fixture highlight, St Kilda will run out on ANZAC Day for the first time since 2021, with the Saints travelling to play Fremantle on the evening of 25 April.

St Kilda’s double-up opponents next season are Brisbane, Geelong, Western Bulldogs, Collingwood, North Melbourne and Richmond.

The Saints will travel interstate seven times in 2027, with matches against Geelong (Barossa Park), Fremantle (Optus Stadium), Brisbane (GABBA), Hawthorn (UTAS Stadium), Sydney (SCG), Adelaide (AO), and Gold Coast (People First Stadium).

St Kilda CEO Carl Dilena said the fixture held an exciting start for Saints fans.

“We’re pleased to be able help kick off the AFL Premiership Season with another prime-time MCG home game and we hope to once again see a strong showing from the St Kilda faithful.

"Last season’s opener against Collingwood attracted the club's largest ever home and away crowd with more than 82,500 fans, representing one of the highest drawing games in the AFL for 2026, so we’re delighted to again open our season with this marquee fixture.

"Home games at Marvel against Victorian clubs such as Carlton, Richmond, Geelong, Melbourne, Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne also shape as must-see fixtures for our members and fans.”

Dilena also said the fixture presented a mix of on-field opportunities and challenges for the club.

"The opening month presents an exciting opportunity to challenge ourselves against teams that played finals football last season, while we are pleased to only have one true interstate match up in our first eight games.

“From a recovery perspective, it’s pleasing to have our travel more evenly spaced across the season than this year, which will be important given the solid double match ups we've received.”

The league has today confirmed the dates and times for the opening 16 rounds of the 2027 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, with timings for the remaining eight rounds to be finalised later in the year.
