SAINTS’ goal-sneak Stephen Milne has tonight become the fourth player in St Kilda’s history to reach 500 goals.

Milne celebrated the milestone in the second quarter of the Saints’ Round 5 clash against Melbourne at the MCG.

Regarded by some as the game’s most accomplished small forward, Milne joins Tony Lockett, Bill Mohr and Steward Loewe in reaching the mark.

He is among an elite list of 48 players in the game’s history that have already reached the landmark.

In an AFL career spanning 13 years, the 32-year-old has 241 AFL games under his belt as well as an impressive list of achievements.

The Saints star benchmarked his goaling ability against the Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium in 2005, booting 11.

He then kicked his 300th goal at the venue in Round 21 last year against Collingwood, breaking the Stadium’s record.

Milne is level with Sydney’s Brett Kirk tonight having played the most AFL games after being elevated from the Rookie list, while former Melbourne Captain and current GWS player James McDonald sits on top.
