St Kilda has finalised its playing list prior to the 2020 AFL Women’s Draft.

The Saints have made seven changes to their inaugural squad, with tough midfielder Sammie Johnson and defender Kelly O’Neill not offered contracts for Season 2021.

The pair were both graduates of the Southern Saints VFL side before earning their chance at AFLW level.

Tall forward Courteney Munn has elected to retire, joining Emma Mackie who announced she was hanging up the boots post-season, while Jess Sedunary (Adelaide) and Ali Drennan (Gold Coast Suns) departed during the trade period.

Skilful defender Mel Kuys was also informed at the culmination of the season that she would not be offered a contract for 2021.

Head of Women’s Football Jamie Cox thanked all seven players for their important contributions during St Kilda’s first year in the AFLW.

“It’s been an incredible journey for everyone involved and Sammie, Kelly, Courteney, Emma, Ali, Mel and Jess all played significant roles in our inaugural season,” Cox said

Their commitment to the club and their contribution to the culture we are trying to create cannot be underestimated.

- Jamie Cox

“We wish them all the best for what the future holds, both on and off the field.”

St Kilda acquired former Blue Jayde Van Dyk and ex-Demon Bianca Jakobsson during the AFLW Trade and Sign Period to take its list to 25 players.

St Kilda has five spots remaining for Season 2021 and holds draft selections No. 6 (Vic 4), No. 24 (16), No. 34 (21), No. 40 (24) & No. 57 (33).
