2017 | From Yorta Yorta Country
Representing the land of the Yorta Yorta people of which Jade Gresham’s family hails, St Kilda's 2017 Indigenous Guernsey was designed by the young Saint and his mother, Michelle.
The traditional tricolours are adjusted on the guernsey to form an abstract geographical representation of the Yorta Yorta lands, while an intricate detail reminiscent of a turtle’s shell - Gresham's family totem - runs through the red and black panels.
A homage to the Murray River, accompanied by two long-neck turtles, flows horizontally through the design to further showcase the history of the Yorta Yorta people.
