St Kilda is throwing its support right behind tennis star and Saints fan Samantha Stosur as she cruises through to the third round of the Australian Open.

The 2011 US Open winner and 2010 French Open finalist is in solid form after easily disposing of Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova on Wednesday night to set up a clash with Serbian Ana Ivanovic.

Stosur’s link to the Saints comes through captain Nick Riewoldt, with the pair attending the same Gold Coast primary school and maintaining a close friendship ever since.

Another St Kilda fan Olivia Rogowska is in the second round after defeating Colombian Mariana Duque Marino in the first round.
