RHYS STANLEY will make his return to the football field this weekend following a seven week stint on the sidelines after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The 200cm tall forward come ruckman is listed as an emergency for the Saints’ clash against Geelong but will most likely make his return via the VFL with Sandringham on Saturday afternoon.

The 21-year-old said he was excited to be making his return on the weekend.

“I’m feeling really good and can’t wait to get back on the field with the boys,” Stanley said.

“It’s been a long frustrating road back but I’m really excited to play what will be a big game ahead.”

Stanley has played nine senior matches this year for a career total of 18, with the hamstring troubles limiting what has been his most productive season at the Club.

He will line up among a strong Sandringham side, which after a dominant victory over Collingwood last weekend has secured a finals berth.

They take on Williamstown at Burbank Oval on Saturday in a match that will potentially decide where they will place on the ladder at season’s end.

The Zebras sit two points above Williamstown and a win would guarantee them a spot in the top five.
