1. Top Billings

Fresh off a best-on-ground performance against the Suns, Jack Billings will take the field locked in with the Saints for a further two years.

The silky left-footer inked a new deal this week after dragging his side to victory in Townsville, with 11 disposals, two goals and six tackles in a blinding final term.

If he fires again – you won't want to miss it.

2. Stars return

At long last, the Saints will welcome back some of their injured stars, with Dan Hannebery and Jack Carlisle to play their first games for Season 2019.

Hannebery will make his debut in the red, white and black after two games in the VFL, while Carlisle needed just one to convince selectors he was ready to take on the Lions.

With Jarryn Geary, Jack Steven and Dylan Roberton still missing, Hannebery’s on-field experience will be a vital boost, while Carlisle’s intercept marking has been sorely missed in defence.

3. Plenty to play for

The Saints are clinging to hopes of a return to September, and a win against the seventh-placed Lions could ignite a mid-season run.

The Lions, meanwhile, sit just one game ahead of the Saints on the ladder, and will be desperate to cement their spot in the top 8.

At 6-6, the Saints’ season hangs in the balance, and your support for the boys is needed now more than ever.

4. Twilight delight

Despite the bleak mid-winter weather outside, fans can nonetheless expect perfect conditions under the roof at Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

After sweating through volatile heat and humidity in both Shanghai and Townsville, the Saints will relish the ideal conditions under the roof at Marvel Stadium.

5. Old meets new

Dave Armitage showed in Townsville that he was far from finished at AFL level, with his ability to bring the ball back through the corridor pivotal to overrunning the Suns.

In the same team was Nicholas Hind, a first-gamer with blistering speed who provided a glimpse of the special traits that could see him thrive at AFL level.

The Saints have been averaging 69 games per player this season, which will jump dramatically with Hannebery and Carlisle joining Armitage in the final 22.
