Disruptions impacting Round 15:

🚊 Train Disruption:

  • Due to Metro Tunnel Project trial operations, passengers on the Pakenham, Cranbourne and Sunbury lines will need to change trains at Caufield or Footscray stations to complete their journey on Saturday 21 June.
  • Buses replace trains on the Werribee Line between Newport and Werribee stations from 8:20pm Friday 20 June until the last train Sunday 22 June.
  • Coaches replace trains on the Bendigo Line between Sunbury and Gisborne stations from 10pm Friday 20 June until 8am Sunday 22 June.

🚗 Road Disruption:

  • Flinders Street (eastbound) is closed between Elizabeth and Swanston streets.
  • The citybound exit from the Princes Freeway to Clyde Road, Berwick is closed until mid-November.

Progress on the Metro Tunnel Project is heating up this winter as it undertakes a full day of trial operations on the Pakenham and Cranbourne and Sunbury lines for the very first time.  On Saturday, 21 June, the Metro Tunnel team will test all the new systems and infrastructure over a whole day all the way from East Pakenham to Sunbury – with more trains set to run throughout the day compared to a usual Saturday timetable.  Trains running on the Cranbourne and Pakenham and Sunbury lines need to travel through the Metro Tunnel without passengers – so people will have to change trains at Caulfield or Footscray to complete their journey.
