St Kilda’s list has been bolstered again, with five players signing on for the 2026 season.
Dougal Howard, Isaac Keeler, Liam Stocker, Paddy Dow and Liam O’Connell will all remain in the red, white and black for at least the next 12 months.
Howard was restricted to three senior appearances this year due to an unlucky run with hamstring and shoulder injuries. Despite limited game time, the 29-year-old remained an influential presence off the field, guiding developing defenders including Anthony Caminiti and Alix Tauru.
Keeler made his long-awaited AFL debut in Round 2 against Geelong, realising a lifelong dream. The versatile 21-year-old has quickly grown into an important presence both on and off the field and is determined to build on that momentum in 2026.
Stocker has continued to be a reliable contributor in defence, adding 16 games to his Saints tally this season. His fearless attack on the contest and unwavering team-first approach have made him a vital part of the backline mix.
Dow endured one of the toughest years of his career, beginning and ending 2025 in hospital. Despite the setbacks, his positivity, persistence and grit have shone through, embodying the spirit that defines St Kilda.
O’Connell’s rapid development since joining the club as a Category B Rookie in 2024 has shown he belongs at the elite level. The 22-year-old Irishman debuted in Round 1 against Adelaide and went on to play seven senior games, showcasing relentless pressure, physicality and maturity beyond his years.
“We’re really excited to have Dougal, Isaac, Liam, Paddy and Liam commit for next year,” Executive General Manager of Football David Misson said.
“All five players have had unique journeys this season, navigating the challenges of life as an AFL footballer.
“One thing that has stood out across each of them is their resilience and professionalism, which is a credit to who they are as people as well as players.”
