The Saints’ stocks are set to be replenished with two key position players a test to be available for selection this weekend.
Key pressure forward Nicola Xenos will eye off a return earlier than anticipated. The 24-year-old will be required to pass a fitness test during the Saints’ main training session this week to be available for selection.
This will be an exciting return for Xenos, who’s 2024 season ended earlier than expected, undergoing surgery on a heel issue.
Key defender Ella Friend will also make herself available for selection pending a fitness test, having completed her concussion protocols.
“We’re in a similar position to the start of the season, with potentially 27 healthy players available. It’s exciting, but that depth always makes decisions tough at the selection table,” GM AFLW Jessie Mulholland said.
“It’s a real credit to the commitment of our rehab group and medical staff, who work tirelessly to ensure we have the healthiest list possible”
Untried recruit Alana Gee and versatile forward Darcy Guttridge are continuing to progress well through their respective rehab programs.
