The 2025 Trade Period has come to a close, with four new Sainters set to pull on the red, white and black in 2026.

Here's an overview of the player movements from RSEA Park over the last 12 days.

JACK SILVAGNI

Jack Silvagni became the first player to join the club on the opening day of free agency, with the Saints securing the services of the former Blue.

Known for his ability to play across the ground in a variety of roles, Silvagni found himself at home down back in his last year as a Blue where he flourished, ranking above average in disposals, marks and spoils while ranking elite in his tackling numbers.

The defender sought a new home at the end of the season, with the Saints beating out other Victorian rivals for his signature.

Silvagni will look to bring experience to the Saints' backline alongside Callum Wilkie, as well as assisting in the development of his young counterparts in Alix Tauru and Anthony Caminiti.

"The Saints have a strong mix of established talent and exciting young players, and I feel I can add to that with my experience, versatility and drive to compete." said Silvagni after being named a St Kilda player.

"I’m looking forward with full focus on the Saints, and doing everything I can to help us push forward.”

TOM DE KONING

One of the most high-profile signings of the 2025 period, Tom De Koning joined the club as it's second free agency signing on the opening day.

De Koning announced himself as an emerging star ruckman for Carlton over the last two seasons, producing incredible feats of athleticism and ruck craft that saw the club make the necessary moves to bring him in.

Fitting right in with the St Kilda model of his long flowing blonde hair, De Koning's signing adds to an exciting developing midfield mix alongside Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, Sam Flanders, Marcus Windhager and Mattaes Phillipou.

Tom spoke to Saints media upon his arrival, saying "I’m absolutely pumped to be joining St Kilda.”

"From the outside you can see how driven and united this playing group is.

"There’s a real determination to get the best out of themselves and each other, and I want to contribute to that."

SAM FLANDERS

TRADE
St Kilda receive: Sam Flanders
Gold Coast receive: Pick 7

Sam Flanders became the first player to arrive at the Saints via a trade in 2025, with the club securing his services from the Gold Coast Suns.

The 24 year old midfielder produced a breakout campaign in 2024, cementing his place in the Suns' starting 22 averaging 30 disposals a game.

After battling injuries to begin his 2025 season, Flanders was able to showcase his ability forward of the ball, kicking 12 goals while still averaging 18 disposals in reduced midfield minutes.

Flanders will look to play alongside the Saints' growing midfield and take his game to the next level under Ross Lyon.

"Joining St Kilda feels like the right move at the right time," said Flanders.

"I’m confident the Saints’ environment will bring out the best in me as both a player and a person."

LIAM RYAN

TRADE
St Kilda receive: Liam Ryan, 2027 3rd round pick
West Coast receive: 2026 2nd round pick

The fourth and final signing of the trade period for the Saints saw the high-flying Liam Ryan join the club after a premiership-winning stint at the West Coast Eagles.

The 29 year old made a name for himself out west as a human highlight reel, winning Mark of the Year in 2019 and excelling at ground level.

Named All-Australian in 2020, Ryan will look to add a dynamic string to the bow of the Saints' forward line, partnering with three-time club leading goalkicker Jack Higgins.

Ryan spoke after the move saying, "I’m really excited to be joining St Kilda and taking on this next chapter in my career.”

"There’s a great energy about this group, and you can feel the hunger to improve and do something great."
