Max King is set to line up for his first AFL match in more than two years, with the key forward named in an extended squad for Sunday's Round 20 clash with North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.

King, who hasn't played at AFL level since Round 17, 2024 due to persistent knee issues, joins Dan Butler, Tom De Koning, Angus Hastie and Hugh Boxshall as potential inclusions, with Liam Henry and Anthony Caminiti both omitted.

The 26-year-old has one final hurdle - a team training session on Friday - to be cleared to face the Kangaroos, with the Saints to name their final team at 5pm AEST on Friday.

The game will be played at 3:15pm AEST on Sunday, and will be broadcast live on Seven, Fox Footy and Kayo.
