St Kilda has locked in a trio of players, with Alex Dodson, Liam Stocker, and Liam O’Connell all extending their stays at RSEA Park.

Dodson has penned a two-year extension until the end of 2028, while Stocker and O’Connell will return on one-year contracts.

Liam Stocker played 18 games this season, including game 100 against his old side Carlton late in the year.

The tough defender was a valuable asset this year, courtesy of his ability to lock down opposition forwards.

Stocker has proven a shrewd pickup, turning out in the red, white and black 74 times since the club signed him as a rookie via the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period before the 2023 season.

Liam O’Connell will return in 2027 after playing 13 games this year and becoming a regular fixture in the AFL backline during the back half of the season.

The Irishman continues to expand his game after joining the club as a Category B rookie ahead of 2024.

He will form part of an Irish trio at RSEA Park in 2027, alongside Kobe McDonald and Eamonn Armstrong.

Ruckman Alex Dodson compiled an encouraging season at VFL level as he continued to develop behind more experienced players.

The 203cm big man played 15 games for the Saints VFL side this season, gelling well with the side's young midfielders.

After two seasons on the list, the former Australian junior basketball representative will be well placed to add to his solitary AFL appearance next season.

St Kilda General Manager of Football Lenny Hayes said each of the players had made strong individual progress in 2026.

“Each of these players showed positive signs this season.

“We look forward to welcoming them back to pre-season training in November and are confident all three can contribute next season."
