St Kilda will be forced to make at least one change at selection this week, and potentially even two, if Nathan Wright joins Luke Dunstan on the sidelines this weekend.

Tough inside midfielder Dunstan dislocated his shoulder in Sunday’s win against Carlton, which will sideline him for the remainder of 2016.

While Wright suffered a back injury after bravely standing his ground in a marking contest, before playing out the game in discomfort. He will need to prove his fitness at Thursday’s main training session but is in doubt to face Sydney on Saturday night.

Saints Coach Alan Richardson and the match committee may elect to inject key forward Paddy McCartin back into the senior side after a dominant display in the VFL.

McCartin, 20, booted five goals from 14 possessions and seven marks against North Ballarat, in his second game back from concussion.

If Wright fails to get up this weekend, in-form medium-sized forward Cameron Shenton might be an ideal replacement. The South Australian continued his stellar year at Sandringham with another best on ground performance in Ballarat.

Shenton, who hasn’t played at AFL level since Round 21 last season, booted six majors against the Roosters, and was named in Paul Hudson’s best players for the fourth game in succession.

Rebounding defender Jimmy Webster made a successful return in the reserves, collecting 19 disposals. Webster may require more game time before being considered for senior selection, after missing five weeks with a hamstring strain.

Second-year midfielder Jack Sinclair put his hand up for a recall after accumulating 33 possessions against North Ballarat on Saturday. The 21-year-old has played nine senior games this season after playing 18 in his debut year.
