St Kilda Football Club supporters are welcome to join the Albury Wodonga Saints to celebrate their twentieth anniversary this Saturday 2 July at Wodonga Bowling Club.

Established in early 1996 as the Twin City Saints, the nine-member committee worked tirelessly on the Save Our Saints campaign that aimed to raise awareness of the economic hardship the club was facing.

As the club experienced more on-field success, the Twin City Saints ran many memorable bus trips down the Hume to ferry supporters and members to watch the mighty Saints play at Waverly and the MCG.

The road convoy also expanded to away games stopping at memorable matches such as Nathan Burke’s 300th game at Manuka Oval and two trips to Perth for Robert Harvey’s 350th and Stephen Milne’s 200th games.

The group held a number of family days enjoyed by hundreds of local fans at ‘Frog Hollow’ with surprise guests such as Aussie Jones, Luke Beveridge, Barry Hall, Lenny Hayes, and Stephen Milne making the trip up the Hume to celebrate with supporters.

With growing support in the north-eastern region of Victoria, the Twin City Saints became the Albury Wodonga Saints supporter group to better accommodate and reflect the region.

Over the twenty years since the Albury Wodonga Saints first formed, their passion and support of the St Kilda Football Club has been unwavering.

In celebration of the milestone, the Albury Wodonga Saints will host a dinner at the Wodonga Bowling Club on Saturday 2 July. The night will feature special guest Bob Murray and Ken Sheldon as well as giveaways, raffles and prizes to be won.
