While the world tuned on the internet and became obsessed with Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls, the Saints faithful assembled behind some of the most iconic names to ever pull on the red, white and black.

And if the names were good, the nicknames were better.

‘Plugger’, ‘Banger’, ‘Spider’ and ‘Buckets’ said it all. This was a decade of larger than life characters and even bigger moments.

Over the next fortnight, the Saints will take a trip down memory lane to celebrate the 90s as part of our new Through the Ages series.

We will relive the unforgettable moments, from Nicky Winmar’s stand against racism, to the last AFL match at Moorabbin, and the rise to the 97 Grand Final.

We will pay homage to the legends that wore the red, white and black and ask Saints fans to help us select the Deliveroo Team of the Decade.

Saints fans will be called upon to select the Dare Sainter of the Decade, as we crown that one player who stood above all others.

We will also be looking to have some fun, with quizzes and competitions and a toast to the mullet or glove wearing players that defined a decade.
