Dan Hannebery and Jake Carlisle will return to the senior line-up against Greater Western Sydney as St Kilda looks to secure its place in the top-eight.

The two experienced Saints replace Zak Jones (injured) and Nicholas Hind (omitted) in the club’s bid to break its nine-year finals drought.

The 29-year-old Hannebery comes in for the first time since Round 5 after missing the past 12 matches through two hamstring injuries, the latter of which forced him to return to Victoria for surgery.

But after two weeks’ quarantine at the AFL’s Palm Meadows resort and re-joining the Saints on Tuesday afternoon, the triple All-Australian has ticked all the boxes to receive the green light for Friday night.

For Carlisle, it will be his first senior outing since Sir Doug Nicholls Round against Brisbane.

Ryan Byrnes, Shane Savage, Jonathon Marsh and Luke Dunstan have been named as emergencies.

St Kilda will face Greater Western Sydney on Friday 18 September at the Gabba, with the opening bounce set for 7:50pm AEST.
