25-year-old Polo has not played since St Kilda's Round 6 clash against Hawthorn at the MCG, ironically the last time the Saints played at the ground.
Polo will start alongside Jack Steven and Farren Ray on the interchange, while fourth gamer Sam Dunell will again start as sub.
"Beau Wilkes won't come into the side, Sammy Dunell will start as sub. I might have to give him a start at some point because he's going very well," Watters joked on Triple M's pre-game football program.
Watters lauded the efforts of his defensive six and said the whole playing group had been preparing well for tonight's match.
"When I was there, they enjoyed the challenge of playing against St Kilda, our preparation this week, and probably the last three weeks has been as good as it has been all year and I think we're seeing some continuity in our group," Watters said.
"Our defensive six or seven are having a little bit of time together which is good and we're seeing some benefits from that."
Despite the confidence in his defenders, Watters said Collingwood's forward duo in Travis Cloke and Chris Dawes would be a challenge, but nothing key defender Sam Fisher can't handle.
"Sam Fisher will go to him (Travis Cloke) initially and look, it is a challenge those two players when they're in good form, Collingwood is in good form. Clokey looked like he was running in to form last week and Dawes has probably had a year where its probably below the standards of his previous seasons. I've got a lot of confidence in our back six."
The Saints sit just outside the eight but Watters said statistically the side could be further up the ladder.
"Statistically as of this week we're eighth defensively, fifth offensively, and obviously there's a lot of other things that go into that but we feel like we're making some progressions," he said.
"We're still not prepared to concede that the season's done and dusted. We're prepared to fight it out. We've got five games to go, and I think our sides good enough to beat any side in the competition. So hopefully we start with that to some degree."
