Tim Membrey will be in red, white and black for at least another three seasons after putting pen to paper on a fresh contract extension.

The three-time leading goalkicker was an integral figure in last season’s rise into finals football through his on-field impact and leadership, capping off 2020 with the Robert Harvey Best Clubman Award.

This effort was then rewarded by his teammates, with Membrey elected into St Kilda’s seven-man leadership group as vice-captain.

Head of List Management James Gallagher said the 26-year-old’s commitment would be vital in steering St Kilda further towards the ultimate success.

“We’re really rapt to have Tim re-sign with the club,” Gallagher said.

He’s such an important pillar in our path forward, not only from an on-field perspective, but in a cultural sense through the way he conducts himself and pushes his teammates to give their all.

“Tim is selfless in every sense of the word, and the way he held himself last season is a testament to his character and genuine willingness to put the team first.

“With his strong performances and his leadership qualities, Tim is highly respected by his teammates and coaches, and we’re confident he’ll continue to demand the best from them in our pursuit forward.”

Membrey has played 110 games and kicked 192 goals for St Kilda after joining the club as a delisted free agent ahead in 2015.
