Sandringham saw another solid game from young Ryan Byrnes, who followed up his 21-disposal game in Round 1 with 25 touches against Port Melbourne.

Paddy Ryder marked his return to competitive footy with 32 hit-outs and a goal, whilst Luke Dunstan responded well to his omission from the seniors, collecting 46 disposals.

Unfortunately it wasn’t enough for the Zebras, who fell away after leading by 23 points at the half.

Meanwhile, experienced defender James Frawley is set to return through the VFL, available for Sunday's clash with Box Hill.

Alice Burke and Tahlia Meyer were among the best for the Saints, with 27 and 26 touches apiece.

The Saints will take on Hawthorn at 10:00am in a curtain raiser to the Zebras/Hawks clash later in the afternoon.
