After a dynamic and unexpected beginning to life as an AFL footballer in 2021, Leo Connolly found himself on the cusp for majority of 2022.
The composed half-back didn’t feature at senior level last season, but was a prominent member of Sandringham’s brigade under the tutelage of Development Coach Jake Batchelor.
Sharpening his decision-making and putting himself in positions to win the ball were key focusses for young Saint at reserves level, and when coupled with his execution by foot, could prove an important asset under Ross Lyon.
Connolly closed out 2022 second at Sandringham’s Best & Fairest, just one vote shy of fellow Saint and winner Tom Campbell.
