A versatile talent with deft foot-skills on either side of the body, Leo Connolly shapes as a skilful talent for the red, white and black in the coming seasons.
The Gippsland Power half-back was noted for run-and-carry and elite kicking heading into the draft, both of which were on full display in the latter stages of the 2019 NAB League.
Connolly first pulled on the Saints guernsey for February's Emergency Services Practice match in Morwell, and has since developed his craft along the wings and up forward in the club's subsequent scratch matches.
After donning the Navy Blue to even up the numbers the first time the sides met at Ikon Park, Connolly kicked the first goal of the game in his rightful colours the following fortnight's rematch in Queensland.
Connolly was selected by St Kilda with pick No. 64 in the 2019 National Draft.
