St Kilda is excited to welcome Damian Carroll as its new Head of Development and Learning.

Carroll comes to St Kilda from Collingwood where he was responsible for overseeing the club’s development programs.

The former teacher has also held positions with Hawthorn where he coached Box Hill to a VFL premiership in 2013, served as an assistant coach in 2015 and was later appointed to the Head of Development and Learning.

St Kilda Chief Operating Officer Simon Lethlean said that Carroll would play an integral role in developing and educating the club’s emerging talent.

“We’re really excited by what Damian can add to our football program,” Chief Operating Officer Simon Lethlean said.

“Damian’s had a long and successful career in developing footballers and we know that his experience with premiership sides will also be a great advantage for the club.

“The development of our younger players has never been more important with the impacts that COVID-19 has had on the pathway and state level competitions, and we believe Damian is the right person to lead this work.

“We look forward welcoming him and his family to RSEA Park in the coming weeks.”

Carroll is the third addition to the club’s football department this off-season, with the recruitment of Corey Enright (Assistant Coach) and Nick Walsh (Head of High Performance and Conditioning) both recently finalised.
